Colin Cowherd Raves Over this NFL Team's Potential

Watch Colin Cowherd of FS1’s The Herd explain why he believes the Washington Commanders will be the surprise team of the NFL coming off their drafting of LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the no. 2 overall pick in last month’s 2024 Draft.

Check out the segment below as Colin details why Daniels and the Commanders can become last year’s version of the Houston Texans with then-no. 2 pick CJ Stroud.

Colin Cowherd: “I haven’t said anything nice about the Washington football team in a decade. In the last segment we talked about Tom Brady saying ‘it’s not just playing football, there is a way to be as a quarterback.' How you congratulate, how you connect, how you win, how you lose, how you talk to the media... There’s a way. This thing [Jayden Daniels] is going to work. The NFL is cruel – we ask 22-year-old kids to be 42 years old and mature. I don’t care about any other position, but for quarterback it’s different. A plan, grown-up, an adult, order, being prepared... Jayden Daniels is going to work.
This league always has about 15% at the bottom who are hopeless – Washington has been in that group a lot. This year it kinda feels like Carolina, Vegas doesn’t have a quarterback, Giants are in that group...Washington is NOT. This thing feels like it’s going to work. Everything I see and hear about Jayden Daniels would give me absolute confidence. Last year the second quarterback taken [CJ Stroud] was the best one. It’s exciting because this team has been the dregs of the NFL, just a bad smell, and a creepy owner. Got a new owner, got a new coach, got a new quarterback, got a new scouting department, and they got some players here. This is not a tough division. The Giants are a bit of a mess, Dallas has a coach on the hot seat, Philadelphia is making changes and loses maybe the greatest center maybe in 20 years. I just feel good about this.”
