Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark was named as the 2024 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year on Thursday (October 3).

"From #1 overall pick to ROTY Caitlin Clark is your 2024 WNBA @Kia Rookie of the Year! Clark averaged 19.2 PPG , 5.7 RPG, and led the league with 8.4 APG, becoming the first rookie to ever lead in that category #KiaROY | #WelcometotheW," the league wrote on its X account.

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds during her rookie season, setting WNBA records for assists in a single-season (337) and game (19), as well as rookie records for points (769), assists, 3-pointers (122) and triple-doubles (2), leading the Fever to a playoff berth before being eliminated by the Connecticut Sun last month.

“I’m a tough grader. I feel like I had a solid year,” Clark told reporters after the elimination loss via the New York Post. “For me, the fun part is like I feel like I’m just scratching the surface and I’m the one that’s nit picking every single thing I do. I know I want to help this franchise. … I know there’s a lot of room for me to continue to improve so that’s what excites me the most. I feel like I continue to get a lot better.”
