Don't Sleep on Nashville

Last night the Pittsburgh Penguins jumped out to a 1-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Finals with a 5-3 win over Nashville at  PPG Arena in Pittsburgh.

If someone looked at the final score without seeing the game, one would assume that the Penguins didn't have many problems with the Predators.  The reality is, the Penguins were dominated for all but six minutes of the contest.  Fortunately in those six minutes, the Pens were able to get pucks past Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne.

Truthfully, Rinne had a miserable night.  He allowed four goals and, considering the Pens only had twelve shots on goal the whole game, the blame for the game one loss falls squarely on Rinne.

It would be easy to assume that the Pens are gonna cruise through this series, but they won't.  Nashville is a solid team and Pekka Rinne won't have that horrible of a game again.

This is going to be a six or seven game series and it may very well be a classic.  Don't sell Nashville short.
