If you're familiar with the TV series The Bachelor, the emcee of the show occasionally utters the phrase "the most important rose ceremony of the season." Browns fans kind of remind me of this guy when it comes to the NFL Draft. Every year fans are saying "it's the most important draft since 1999." Maybe it is, considering the Browns have found a way to screw up the first round of the draft in all but two years since coming back to the NFL. Now there is talk that the organization wants to move up in the draft to take QB Mitchell Trubisky from North Carolina, to which I say HELL NO!!!
Listen, regardless if fans want to believe this, the Browns were an expansion type team last year. They tore the entire organization down to the stud and are in the process of rebuilding this team from the ground up. The Browns did a GREAT job of rebuilding their O-Line through free agency, now it's time to rebuild their D-Line through the draft.
Here's what Sashi and the boys should do: Draft Texas A-M DE Myles Garrett with the first pick in the draft and then call Chicago and offer the Bears the 12th, 52nd and a 3rd round draft pick in the 2018 draft for the Bears 1st round pick (3rd pick overall). With that pick, the Browns should grab DT Johnathan Allen from Alabama.
By doing this, the D-Line becomes a strength. More importantly, both lines would practice against each other. The old adage that iron sharpens iron would be on full display in Berea. Use the rest of the draft to pick the best player available regardless of position.
